Welcome to the historic Madison Eagle, a standalone studio-style space that combines the charm of the past with modern comfort.

Located in the heart of Madison on Main St, the Eagle has a rich history dating back to the late 1700s. The original wooden floors and high ceilings create a sense of grandeur and nostalgia. The space features a blend of contemporary and antique furnishings and vintage decor, providing a unique glimpse into the past, including the building's and the area's history.

A Structure Steeped in History

Before the Eagle was a cozy place to stay, it was home to the Madison County Eagle newspaper for 60 years. Prior to that, it was a store, a law office, a doctor's office, a storehouse, and even housed dairy cows at one point.

Dine In or Out

The Eagle's kitchenette is equipped with all the essentials you need to prepare a simple meal, including a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, countertop burner, dishwasher, electric tea kettle, and coffee maker. Coffee and a selection of teas are provided for our guests. Relax with a book from the shelf in the cozy reading nook and play a selection of board games or assemble puzzles at the large dining table.

This is Your Space

The plush queen-size bed includes fluffy pillows and a soft duvet. The sofa folds out into a full bed for two more guests. The bathroom is located just off the bedroom and includes a shower, toilet, and sink, as well as fresh towels and toiletries. Laundry is available for guest use.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Eve House check-in time can be flexible depending on whether or not it is booked the night before. You are always welcome to ask, and we will accommodate when we're able based on our cleaning schedule and house availability.

  • The house is equipped with a smoke alarm, carbon monoxide monitor, fire extinguishers, and a first aid kit.

    A security camera is mounted outside for everyone's protection. Security cameras are not installed inside the house. The exterior camera is used exclusively to monitor the property for safety.

  • The Eagle is equipped with games and puzzles that a child would love. Note that the Eagle does not include a changing table, pack-n-play, or high chair, but there is plenty of room for these items should you bring them.

  • The bed and sofabed both have their own sheets, blankets, and pillows, and you will have a selection of towels at your disposal.

  • Events are not allowed at the Eagle because it does not have outdoor space and is close to neighbors who live there fulltime. Please inquire about hosting an event at the Eagle sister property across the street, the Historic Eve House.

  • A late checkout may be possible depending on the cleaning crew's schedule and when the next guests will arrive. Please inquire.
